Fabrication, installation and maintenance in MS and SS
Below is the work we take on, a sample of the jobs we have actually invoiced, and the codes they are billed under. The SAC and HSN codes are the ones that appear on our tax invoices, so your accounts team can see how a job will be coded before the purchase order is raised.

How a job is billed
Some of our work is a service and some of it is goods, and the invoice will show both. It is worth knowing which is which before the first one arrives.
Fabricate and install — a service
When we fabricate something and fix it into your building, the whole job is a works contract and is billed as a service under SAC 9954xx. That covers shutter repairs, sheeting a panel shed, and most on-site work.
Material and finished items — goods
Sections, sheet, pipe and fasteners are billed as goods under their own HSN. A fabricated item we hand over rather than install — a trolley, a rack — is billed under HSN 7308.
